They provide critical support by inhibiting the formation of free radicals, supporting your body's defense of fragile DNA. Lemon balm tea also maintained oxidative stress status and promoted DNA and cellular stability in hospital workers exposed to ionizing radiation.2 Other research shows lemon balm extract maintains the healthy function of skin cells exposed to UV radiation.3
Ginkgo biloba supports the body's capacity to scavenge reactive oxygen species resulting from ionizing radiation exposure. This further helps support your body's defense system in the context of promoting DNA health.4-8
Preclinical research shows that spirulina increases cellular antioxidant defense against damaging, radiation-induced free radicals.9 It also strengthens and modulates the immune response to tissue damage.10 Pre-clinical evidence suggests spirulina and phycocyanin, a pigment extracted from spirulina, support normal cell function after exposure to ionizing radiation.11-14
